PhotoView 360 is a state-of-the-art progressive rendering solution for SolidWorks models. This new product is included for all PhotoWorks users.
You must have SolidWorks 2009 and a valid SolidWorks license installed on your system to use PhotoView 360. If you have a valid license but get a license error message, reactivate PhotoView 360 by selecting Activate Licenses from the SolidWorks Help menu.
If you installed the separate PhotoView 360 Beta release, you must uninstall that component before updating to 2009 to install the latest PhotoView 360 version.
The PhotoView 360 application and documentation will be localized for Service Pack 2.
If you are using PhotoView 360 on Windows Vista
If you experience a problem opening files on Windows Vista, you should try to drag/drop the files using Windows Explorer as a possible workaround.
Nonlinear static studies do not support beam elements in SolidWorks 2009.
You cannot use PDMWorks Enterprise 2008 (or earlier version) with SolidWorks 2009.
The Help indexes do not include new 2009 functionality. To locate new functionality in Help, use the Help Contents or Search functionality.
After specific XP security updates are applied, SolidWorks compiled help files (.chm) cannot be accessed over a network (although they can be accessed from a disk or local installation). The Microsoft Knowledge Base article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896054/ includes a resolution to this problem.
The SolidWorks View Palette supports AutoCAD® 2002 through 2008.
Save As 3D XML saves the file to the V4.2 specification of 3D XML.
You can create folded ribbon cable routes. You can define ribbon cables from the cable/wire library, use the Auto Route PropertyManager to specify the path, and add ribbon cable connection points to connectors using the Connection Point PropertyManager.
The "Solid Sweep Cuts" section of the What's New book mentions the ability to create a solid sweep cut along a non-tangent path. This feature is not supported in this release.
