Linear Static Analysis

Linear static analysis allows engineers to test different load conditions and their resulting stresses and deformation. Knowing how a design will perform under different conditions allows engineers to make changes prior to physical prototyping, thus saving both time and money.

COSMOSWorks Linear analysis allows design engineers and analysis experts to perform basic stress analysis of their SolidWorks models. The program produces displacements, strains, stresses, forces, and error estimates as results of the analysis under a variety of loading conditions.

Integrated and simplified analysis..

Due to underlying integration of the design and analysis products, stress analysis can be performed as an integral part of the design process. All analysis specifications (loads, restraints, etc.) are applied on geometry rather than a FEA mesh, this way the program ensures associativity of analysis specification even as the design changes.

Features include:

  • Analysis applicable for both parts and assemblies
  • Shell Analysis
  • Linear contact analysis for assemblies including friction
  • Thermal stress analysis
  • Isotropic and orthotropic material behavior
  • Prescribed displacements.
  • Force, Torque, Pressure
  • Body forces (gravity, centrifugal)
  • Thermal loads
