Download Instructions:

  1. Click here to start the download. You must read and accept the license agreement to continue with download.
  2. Using the provided dialog box, select the appropriate file to download for your language and platform.
  3. Download the file you have selected to a hard drive on your computer which has sufficient free space. NOTE: Once you download the file and run it, you can delete it. When you run the file, it can be located in any directory/folder.
  4. Make sure that the downloaded file is the correct size, if it is not, there may have been an error downloading and you should try downloading it again. If you continue to have troubles downloading, please check with your system administrator or Internet provider to determine the cause of the download problem.

Installation Notes:

  1. To review the system requreiments for SolidWorks Viewer, click here.
  2. Make sure that the drive containing your "temp" folder (typically "C:") has at least 15 Mb free space.
  3. Double-click the executable filename and follow the instructions it gives you to complete the install.
  4. Once the install is complete, you can delete the downloaded file if you desire since it is no longer needed.
  5. It is possible to install and use both SolidWorks and the Viewer on the same PC. Please note that double-picking on .sldprt, .sldasm and .slddrw files will launch the application which was most recently installed.

    If you wish to change this association at any time to the other application, just run the desired application using its program item under Start/Programs then exit it. This association change can be done any number of times.
