Description:
A Technical Solutions Engineer is responsible for leading all technical aspects of DraftSight sales campaign. The Technical Solutions Engineer uses in-depth industry and software knowledge to uncover customer business issues and suggest improvements, thus earning status as a trusted advisor with the customer. The Technical Solutions Engineer meets with individuals at all levels in the customer, from executives to drafters, in order to understand issues and discuss solutions while evaluating areas of opportunity for expanded implementation of Dassault Systèmes solutions, specifically, DraftSight and its premium services.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the success of Dassault Systèmes channels (direct and indirect) by mentoring and training reseller personnel on technical demonstrations, new software functionality, and marketing messaging
- Perform in-depth assessment of customer processes and business issues
- Develop proposals in conjunction with consulting services for implementation of Dassault Systèmes solutions
- Identify areas of opportunity for customer process improvement
- Identify and propose options for improvement or resolution of customer issues and relate those solutions directly to the customer' business goals/issues
- Engage in strategic account planning with the sales representative throughout the sales process
- Maintain and grow respected, trusted advisor relationships with customers and members of the Dassault Systèmes Channel management teams involved with the opportunity
- Perform analysis and lead discovery of adjacent opportunities
- Take ownership of technical sales opportunity
Required Skills & Experience:
An experienced Senior Designer, CAD Manager, or Engineering Systems Manager with:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing industries
- Practical design experience in any or all of the following areas:
- Mechanical design
- Electro/Mechanical design
- Manufacturing processes
- Product Design
- In-depth knowledge of the following:
- Engineering processes and workflows
- Manufacturing processes and workflows
- Customizing AutoCAD or other popular 2D DWG file based software
The candidate should possess:
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills
- Superior presentation skills, business process analysis and listening skills
- Requirements gathering and technical discovery proficiency
- Strong teamwork / relationship management skills
- Ability to work within dynamic sales environment
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Comfort in front of small and large audiences
- Comfort speaking at Executive level
- Sales methodology or technical sales experience a plus
- Strong background using AutoCAD or other popular 2D DWG file based software
- Strong background in customizing AutoCAD using LISP or other programming language a definite plus
- Understanding of how engineering software is deployed, managed, and used
- Multi-lingual is a definite plus
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Software knowledge and capabilities:
- Working knowledge of CAD design programs such as:
- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, ME10, Intellicad
- Working knowledge of Enterprise software such as:
- PLM
- ERP/MRP
- PDM
