Position Description: This highly visible position reports to the Director of Product Marketing and will be responsible for creating and delivering compelling sales and marketing materials that clearly articulate the business advantages of implementing new products and design solutions from SolidWorks. Deliverables will include all product-related sales enablement tools and marketing content such as product demonstrations, new product introduction content, datasheets, in-depth competitive analysis, customer presentations, and lead generation campaigns, covering all toolsets from design, to simulation, product data management, and technical communication. Works closely with Field Sales and the Reseller Channel to maximize sales efficiency, understand current market trends, and to determine which sales and marketing tools are required. Works with all internal Marketing teams to deliver exciting and compelling lead generation and brand awareness content. Uses field feedback to contribute to future product direction and functionality, and helps to test, refine, and launch future product releases. Researches the competitive market, gathering market data through analyst reports, trade press, and surveys, and delivers in-depth competitive information to the field. Actively participates as a leading speaker/presenter in sales, marketing, customer, and press events. Travel, both domestic and international, is expected to be 25-30%.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field of study or the foreign equivalent degree.
Requirements: Experienced in the area of product design and simulation and knowledgeable of related manufacturing technologies. Knowledge of existing computer-aided design tools and prior experience in Technical Sales, Product Marketing, or similar. Strong knowledge of competitive products and markets. Excellent overall knowledge of CAD market, including low and high end CAD products and in product design user needs. Working knowledge of industry applications such as concept design, rendering, rapid prototyping, sheet metal, surfacing. Strong communication skills are also required ranging from the ability to present to large groups of customers to smaller groups of senior management.
• In-depth hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks products or similar
• Highly motivated self-starter, willing to travel
• Proven ability to communicate ideas with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of competitive products and markets
• Strong background in product design and conceptual design user needs
• Strong knowledge of industry applications such as concept design, rendering, rapid prototyping, sheet metal, surfacing, etc.
• Strong knowledge of enabling technologies such as MS Office applications, Adobe video editing and publishing tools, etc.
