SolidWorks Corporation recognized as one of the area's 'Best Places to Work' by the Boston Business Journal
Results based on answers to surveys completed by SolidWorks employees
BOSTON, June 12, 2008 — For the sixth consecutive year, the Boston Business Journal today recognized SolidWorks Corporation as one of the greater Boston area’s “Best Places to Work” when it announced its annual ranking of 60 small, midsized, and large companies that are considered the best places to work based on survey responses from employees of the nominated companies. SolidWorks is one of only five companies that have been listed every year in the history of the “Best Places to Work.” The company and its staff were honored at an awards breakfast Tuesday morning.
“SolidWorks Corporation is one of the best places to work because we have excellent people with the highest commitment to serving our customers,” said Dick Morgan, vice president of human resources at SolidWorks Corporation. “That said, we also believe in rich career opportunity, work-life balance, and enjoying every moment.”
“This is one of our most popular events because it focuses on both employer and employees,” said Michael Olivieri, publisher of the Boston Business Journal. “We have found that achieving the title of ‘Best Place to Work’ is something companies are very proud to achieve because it shows they care about their most important asset – their employees.”
The “Best Places to Work” ranking is based on surveys completed by a substantial number of employees at each nominated company. The surveys ask questions related to work environment, work-life balance, job satisfaction, advancement opportunities, compensation, and benefits. This year’s top ranking firms were chosen from 392 nominations – a record number of submissions. Companies are grouped based on their number of employees, as large (more than 500 local employees), midsize (101-500 local employees) and small (20-100 local employees).
