Design News readers name SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks software Best Products of the Year for 2004
Selections emerged from record number of entries in 2004 awards program
CONCORD, Mass., March 7, 2005 ? SolidWorks Corporation today announced that its two flagship products, SolidWorks® 2005 3D mechanical design software and COSMOSWorks® 2005 design validation software, were named two of the Best Products of the Year for 2004 by Design News, an authoritative journal for professional designers and engineers.
?We collected a record number of entries this year, and we let our readers decide the winners,? said Paul Teague, national editor. ?Since most of our 170,000 readers are working professionals, you win only if you help engineers work smarter and faster.?
SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks software were named best products in the computer-aided design (CAD) and analysis categories respectively. SolidWorks software has created a global standard of excellence in mainstream 3D mechanical CAD, delivering powerful 3D design capabilities and unmatched ease of use at an affordable cost. COSMOSWorks is a powerful, easy-to-use design validation and optimization tool fully integrated with SolidWorks software.
?This award really goes to our customers, who continually harness SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks capabilities in new and creative ways, and who over the years have shaped the software with terrific suggestions for hundreds of first-ever features,? said Chris Garcia, SolidWorks vice president of research & development.
In December, Design News asked companies to submit what they believed to be their best products of 2004. The magazine will announce SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks software as Best Products of 2004 winners in today's issue.
