Boston Business Journal names SolidWorks one of Massachusetts' Best Places to Work
#1 mainstream 3D mechanical design software provider wins third time in three years since award first announced
CONCORD, Mass., June 29, 2005 ? SolidWorks Corporation has ranked among the best places to work in Massachusetts for the third consecutive year, according to Boston Business Journal . Based on direct employee feedback about life on the job, benefits, and overall culture, SolidWorks ranked fifth among all entrants in the mid-size company category (101-500 employees).
SolidWorks, the market leader for mainstream 3D mechanical design software, was one of 240 companies considered by the Boston Business Journal for the ?2005 Best Places to Work? award. The results were announced in the June 24 edition of the publication.
? These companies recognize employees as their best asset, instrumental in maintaining the quality and reputation for services and products,? said Mike Olivieri, Boston Business Journal's publisher. ? It's a smart, winning business strategy.?
Boston Business Journal began the award selection by contacting thousands of companies via e-mail and fax announcements, phone calls, and newspaper ads. Throughout the spring, editors evaluated detailed surveys from more than 18,000 employees about company culture, pride, encouragement, recognition of achievement, and relationships with coworkers and supervisors. Employees also listed favorite and least favorite aspects of the company. Editors assigned points to each question and analyzed the results.
?If longevity is a strong measure of employee commitment and satisfaction, SolidWorks has created the right culture to attract and keep highly qualified, highly motivated staff,? said Dick Morgan, vice president of human resources at SolidWorks. ?More than 33 percent of our global staff have been here for more than five years, and the company founders still play an integral role in overall strategy and direction. For the third year in a row, this award underscores our commitment to providing a supportive environment that brings the best out of our employees. We are proud to have been honored by Boston Business Journal. ?
