3DVIA Composer Free Evaluation FAQ

1. How do I install the software and the license?

Follow these steps:

a) Double click the executable installation file to install the software.

b) Extract the license zip file to a convenient location (for example “C:\Composer-Download”)

c) At the end of installation, you'll be prompted to provide a license. Drag the extracted license file onto the “install License” button as shown in the image below.

2. Do I need SolidWorks installed on my machine to open SolidWorks files in 3DVIA Composer?

Yes, SolidWorks is required to use this trial software.

If you do not have SolidWorks, find someone who does and have that person install the free SolidWorks add-in (click here). After the add-in is loaded, SolidWorks files can be exported to Composer format (as shown in the image) and opened in 3DVIA Composer.

3. I have SolidWorks installed on my machine, but cannot open the SolidWorks files!
