3D Output for Rapid Prototyping Overview
SolidWorks provides direct output of your 3D model data in *.STL and other file formats for rapid prototype equipment, enabling you to quickly start production of real, three-dimensional products. 3D Output for Rapid Prototyping functionality includes the ability to:
- Export directly in *.STL file format
- Control export quality to manage file size and output quality
- Export assemblies as a single *.STL part
- Output parts and assemblies that include simulation response (stress levels, for example) so that prototypes can show results levels as colors in the model
