Gibbs and Associates develops GibbsCAM, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for the manufacturing industry. GibbsCAM supports 2 through 5-axis milling, high speed machining, 2-axis turning, mill/turn, multi-task machining (multiple turrets/spindles), swiss, tombstone machiningand wire-EDM with state of the art functionality. The GibbsCAM architecture allows optional modules to be seamlessly added to the base products, protecting your investment, while expanding your capabilities. GibbsCAM’s solids based modules including 2.5D Solids, SolidSurfacer, and Advanced 3D for high-speed machiningcan directly open and machine native SolidWorks solid models files. A custom add-in for SolidWorks allows part files to be transferred directly to GibbsCAM from within the SolidWorks session with a single menu selection.

GibbsCAM’s integrated Cut Part Rendering (CPR) simulation capability allows users to view the machining process in real time, creating an as-machined image of the finished part. Potential mistakes can be identified and corrected before materials and machine time are wasted.

GibbsCAM’s Multiple Process Programming (MPP), allows multiple operations (such as roughing, semi-roughing, and finishing) to be applied at one time. These processes can be stored in a knowledge-base library for reuse on future parts dramatically speeding the programming of similar parts. With much of the programming process automated and standardized, programming time is significantly reduced and quality increased.
