He is author of a book of engineering drafting used in many Italian university institution and of more of 100 national and international papers. The common goal of the research is the analysis, the planning and the introduction of virtual product development tools and digital manufacturing on the basis of integrated enterprise models (PLM).
Product Details:
The book is a new edition of an engineering drawing course containing new tutorials of SolidWorks 2011 (made with RealView graphics) and SolidWorks Simulation 2001 products. The workbook is divided in two volumes:
- The first volume contains the basic of technical drawing, and each section is followed by a SolidWorks 2011 step by step tutorial with logically sequenced lessons covering basic part modeling, assembly modeling, drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing, PhotoView 360, mold design.
- The second volume is focused on functional design and on ANSI Y 14.5 (2009) standard (tolerance stacks, geometrical tolerances) with a brand new SolidWorks tutorial based on TolAnalyst and DimXpert. In particular the authors have made every effort to translate the most current technical information into the most usable form, from both student and teacher point of view, with an intensive use of quality images. The book contains the latest development and current practices in all areas of product engineering (PLM, PDM, CAE) with a self-evaluation tests and exercises at the end of each chapter. The chapters of tolerancing, gears, threads and fasteners have been extensively reviewed to ensure their conformity with the latest ISO and ANSI standard. Each section of the book is followed by SolidWorks 2011 step by step tutorials covering DimXpert and TolAnalys, threads modeling with SolidWorks, revolved features, analysis of parts with SolidWorks Simulation Xpress, configurations, sweeps and lofts, feature patterns, Sheet Metal and Weldments, gears modeling, Motion Studies, analysis with FloXpress, static analysis of parts with SolidWorks Simulation, static analysis of assemblies with SolidWorks Simulation, Motion analysis with SolidWorks Motion (including contacts, Event Based Motion, Motion with 2D blocks), and thermal analysis with SolidWorks Flow Simulation.
The training course is arranged for maximum efficiency in learning essential concepts with many tips and tricks. Thanks to the agreement between SolidWorks and the publisher, a folded card is enclosed in the book, containing instructions to download a 150-day Student Design Kit license of SolidWorks. The book can be purchased in every Italian book shop and by contacting the authors and the publisher.
