About R&B Mold & Die Design:
R&B, Ltd. develops and markets powerful, easy-to-use 3D mold design tools for the plastic mold and die industry. The company was created in 1994 as a separate organization through the combination of Regba Kal, Israel's largest mold maker, and Bercom, a leading supplier of computer-aided engineering solutions for mechanical design and finite element analysis.
Product Details:
SplitWorks is a revolutionary new product, using advanced technology to automate the process of core and cavity separation and creation. SplitWorks' intelligence begins by analyzing the part model and then displaying a color-coated preview of the part, showing the potential core, cavity, zero draft angle surfaces, and surfaces that belong to both the core and the cavity, according to the selected splitting direction. The part may be a solid created within SolidWorks, or imported from any other CAD system via SolidWorks translators. SplitWorks will work even on non-solid geometry, giving it a significant competitive advantage over other products. The user can modify the split direction by simply clicking on a plane, planar face, or edge, which dynamically updates the preview. Undercuts and no draft angle surfaces are analyzed at this stage, allowing the user to determine the best splitting direction.
The geometry is then automatically exploded into four parts (user definable):
- Core
- Cavity
- Both directions
- No draft
It is then automatically placed into an assembly along with the original geometry. Other intelligent functionalities of SplitWorks:
- Move or duplicate the different surfaces from part to part, allowing creation of new parts as necessary
- Automatically close holes on planar of non-planar surfaces
- Create splitting surfaces by lofting or radiating free edges
SplitWorks also enables you to easily create, side cores, pins and electrodes.
