Product Details:
SolidWorks Tutorial with MultiMedia CD is targeted toward a technical school, two-year college or four-year university instructor/student or industry professional who is a beginner or intermediate user and is looking for a step-by-step project-based approach with an enclosed 1.5 hour MultiMedia CD with SolidWorks model files.
The book covers the SolidWorks User Interface and CommandManager, Document and System properties, Task Pane, Design Library and more, over 80 simple machine parts, SimulationXpress/COSMOSXpress analysis, simple and complex assemblies, design tables, configurations, multi-sheet, multi-view drawings, Bill of Materials, and revision tables using basic features and some advanced features but not as many as Engineering Design With SolidWorks. New for 2009, a chapter on the CSWA Certification exam. Sample questions, answers, and SolidWorks models are covered and included.
In a classroom environment, an instructor can take up to 8-10 weeks to cover all of the material: five classroom hours/week between lectures and labs with an individual project at the end of the term. The book can be used later as a reference book.
Desired outcomes and usage competencies are listed for each project. Know your objectives up front. Follow the step-by step procedures in Project 1 through Project 5 to achieve your design goals. Work between multiple documents, features, commands, and custom properties that represent how engineers and designers utilize SolidWorks in industry.
The goal is to illustrate how multiple design situations and systematic steps combine to produce successful projects.
