Eliminate the time-consuming and impractical process of circulating paper documents and packets for signature and approval with SolidWorks Enterprise PDM (EPDM) electronic workflow capabilities. Use system tools to electronically automate the circulation and approval of documents, which accelerates the process, especially when approvers are located in different geographic locations.
In addition to facilitating approvals, SolidWorks EPDM also automatically sends email notifications of approvals or rejections to all indicated personnel, making the entire process as immediate as possible. The system also supports double electronic signatures required for regulatory compliance through the electronic workflow.
Key electronic signature capabilities include:
Automatic File Attribute Update
Use electronic workflow actions to update file attributes, custom property information, and drawing title block attributes automatically to coincide with approval signatures. (For example, add user names and dates to drawings as they progress through the review and approval process.) All users can apply signatures, approvals, and updates, regardless of whether they have access to SolidWorks CAD software.
Double Electronic Signature
Satisfy regulatory compliance requirements for double electronic signature, which is required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), by simply requiring a signatory to enter his/her password a second time in order to execute a process or change approval. This prevents unauthorized users from approving files on an unattended computer, and provides a full audit trail history of the double signature.
