The Flow Parametric Study with SolidWorks Flow Simulation makes evaluation of various fluid flow design scenarios more powerful and intuitive. Product engineers can evaluate specific design scenarios through a “What if” study or perform optimization using a uniform workflow.
Flow Parametric Study Overview
Design is an iterative process as product engineers continuously modify the design until it meets acceptance criteria defined by safety, cost, performance, convenience, and shape. To optimize product development, SolidWorks Flow Simulation provides powerful tools to automate these iterations and find the best design earlier.
- Goal optimization allows you to vary a selected variable parameter (such as model dimensions, boundary condition parameters, initial mesh settings, and so on) to obtain your specific goal parameter value (such as a pressure drop)
- “What if” study allows you to vary a set of selected variable parameters (such as model dimensions, boundary condition parameters, initial mesh settings, and so on) to analyze the selected flow parameters (defined as goals). The study compares the results of the scenarios in an intuitive format so you can find the best alternative.
Product Engineers can then use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) as a 3D Design tool to test various design scenarios and get powerful insight to improve product performance.
