The Challenge
ACPA manufactures special purpose machinery, such as a sensor for detecting side crashes for the automotive industry. When we started the company, we were looking for an affordable CAD package that could meet our design and manufacturing needs in a timely fashion.
The Solution
When I founded this company, I was a very experiencd Pro/ENGINEER user and had not yet learned about SolidWorks. Once I discovered SolidWorks, I felt that they had the same philosophy and approximately the same functionality as Pro/E, but at a much more affordable price. I was not interested in any other software packages. I had no confidence in Autodesk's 3D software. Today, I am very happy with SolidWorks. It has allowed my company to respond promptly to any design projects my clients demand.
