ADES
SUCCESS METRICS
- Cut design cycle by 25%
- Shortened time-to-market by 50%
- Reduced scrap/rework costs by 33%
- Created a revolutionary wind turbine design
The Challenge
ADES (Aplicaciones De Energías Sustitutivas) set out to apply the same concept that has made its industry-leading solar-tracking systems so successful to the wind power market. The company’s tracking systems slowly move the solar panel so that it remains directly aligned with the sun’s rays. ADES engineers believed that they could apply the same approach to wind turbines.
The Solution
In anticipation of its entry into the wind turbine market, ADES moved to SolidWorks® Premium, SolidWorks Simulation Premium, and SolidWorks Flow Simulation software. The company believed that the integrated design and analysis solution would improve efficiency and accelerate time-to-market. By moving to SolidWorks, ADES cut its design cycle by 25 percent, shortened time-to-market by 50 percent, reduced scrap/rework costs by 33 percent, and created a revolutionary wind turbine design.
