A state-licensed, professional engineering design firm located in Knowville, TN, Agile Engineering, Inc. specializes in the development of precision mechanical systems and tooling. Founded in 1998 to meet the needs of young high-tech companies for rapid product development, Agile Engineering has since expanded the scope of its services by not only providing design, but delivering fully operational mechancial systems. The company’s strength is delivering solutions to applications with low volumes that require a high degree of engineering customization and rapid delivery. The company's primary business challenge is providing very fast design solutions that a non-technical customer can evaluate and approve quickly.
The Solution
We chose SolidWorks because it provides exact representations of the design through models or screen shots, so that customers can see exactly what they will get. We also needed a solution with high levels of functionality at an affordable price. The most important capabilities of SolidWorks for us are its well-integrated design and drafting functionality and its kinematic modeling. Features such as SolidWorks eDrawings and SolidWorks Viewer are also very attractive to us and our customers. By far, SolidWorks provides the biggest bang for the buck of any solid modeling package.
