Allmand Bros. Inc.
- Cut parts manual development time by 50–75 percent
- Eliminated change backlog; brought manuals up-to-date
- Improved quality of illustrations
- Automated creation of animated assembly instructions
Allmand Bros. Inc. manufactures complete lines of light towers, compact loader backhoes, light stands, trailer-mounted arrowboards, and industrial heaters, which are used for a host of construction, repair, and maintenance projects. With such a diverse product offering, the company faces a range of product development challenges, many which Allmand resolves with SolidWorks® design tools. However, developing product parts manuals on-time and keeping them up-to-date had become problematic for the Nebraska-based manufacturer.
Allmand acquired SolidWorks Composer™ software because it was easy to use, fully integrated with SolidWorks design software, and resolved the company’s documentation problems. By implementing SolidWorks Composer software, Allmand cut parts manual development time by 50–75 percent, eliminated its backlog of changes, brought all parts manuals up-to-date, improved the quality of its illustrations, and automated the creation of animated assembly instructions.
