The Challenge
American Dryer Corporation (ADC) is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial clothes dryers. ADC specializes in the design and manufacture of washers and dryers for residential and commercial applications. The company needed software that would handle both sheet-metal and plastic design with ease.
The Solution
ADC’s designers chose SolidWorks for the advanced surface modeling capabilities and its engineers chose it for its ability to describe those complex surfaces with geometric conditions. Their experience with other solid modeling packages has strengthened their dedication to SolidWorks. With SolidWorks software, ADC can easily make changes on the fly because of the history tree. In other packages tried by the company, making even small changes meant starting from scratch. SolidWorks is the only software with enough freedom of form to keep pace with the design department and enough technical depth to bring concepts to production. No other software handles the diverse needs of all team members. SolidWorks enables the company's designers and engineers to work in a team-based environment in order to fast-track even complex designs. With SolidWorks ADC was able to bring concepts from idea to production with a single software package.
