Aviation Facilities, Inc.
SUCCESS METRICS
- Shortened design cycle by 50 percent
- Lowered development costs by 80 percent
- Reduced design errors by nearly 100 percent
- Increased productivity by nearly 50 percent
The Challenge
Aviation Facilities, Inc., is a leading designer of FAA-approved parts for today's complex aircraft turbine engines. We needed a 3D modeling system that would provide us the ability to accurately model complex turbine engine accessory components as well as the ability to integrate with SolidWorks Simulation, a premier finite element analysis (FEA) package, to provide accurate stress analyses.
The Solution
Our company creates complex blades which require extreme accuracy. With the lofting capability in SolidWorks software, we can easily create these complex blades. Pro/ENGINEER has many of the same functions but requires more input time. We also chose SolidWorks software for its ability to integrate with SolidWorks Simulation and because it provides us with friendly Windows-based functions. We use PhotoWorks to create photorealistic images.
