The Challenge
Bradford Machine Company is a precision machine shop specializing in small production runs or jobs of complex, high-tolerance parts built from a wide range of materials. Bradford also designs and fabricates smaller "one-off," high-production assembly machines used in the medical and cosmetic industries. As a result, the company was looking for a 3D system that could accommodate the needs of its customers.
The Solution
Bradford evaluated Autodesk Inventor as well as SolidWorks and purchased SolidWorks because Inventor seemed to be lagging behind SolidWorks in features. In addition, the compatibility of SolidWorks software with a wide range of other systems allowed Bradford to import and export a variety of file types quickly and easily to meet the needs of its customer. Features such as the SolidWorks design library and the Hole Wizard helped to decrease design time. In addition, Bradford is pleased with its VAR's response time and excellent answers to the company's specific questions.
