The Challenge
Carbon Design, Inc., designs a wide variety of consumer products including ergonomic office furniture. We needed easy-to-use software that ensured design concepts would be efficiently engineered, put into production, and brought to market. We needed a powerful design tool that could quickly turn concepts into a production reality. We also required a high degree of support from both the software manufacturer and its local reseller.
The Solution
After careful consideration of SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER, we chose SolidWorks software because we needed to efficiently and cost-effectively produce 3D CAD data for production tooling. FeatureManager is also beneficial, allowing us to retrace steps and edit where necessary. With SolidWorks PhotoWorks, we render photorealistic images that make it easier for our clients to review designs effectively. SolidWorks gives us the flexibility to design complex shapes and assemblies cost-effectively. We can now design more complex assemblies that are composed of a wider variety of materials requiring many different production methods.
