EAD Aerospace
SUCCESS METRICS
- Reduced time for drawing aircraft doublers by 35%
- Reduced development costs by 35%
- Reduced clearance errors by 45%
- Expanded overseas orders by 25%
The Challenge
EAD Aerospace designs TCAS (traffic alert and collision avoidance systems) and GPS (global positioning systems) antenna installations for foreign and domestic airlines. The company needed a fast and efficient way to model complex antenna assemblies and provide 3D pictorial views for international customers.
The Solution
SolidWorks is THE way to model 3D parts. After 14 years using AutoCAD and drawing parts for the military industrial complex, SolidWorks has, by far, become the most user-friendly software package for drawing complex parts in 3D. Adding multiple holes across large aircraft skins is easy with the linear pattern command. The learning curve was much lower with SolidWorks.
