George Tylinski Mechanical Design & Analysis
SUCCESS METRICS
- Saved a month’s worth of time through integrated analysis
- Avoided expensive, trial-and-error testing
- Resolved complex thermal/structural challenges
- Aided effort to map near-Earth objects
The Challenge
George Tylinski is a mechanical design and analysis consultant who specializes in optomechanical engineering. When he founded his consulting company, Tylinski knew he would need efficient and highly capable design and analysis tools. After acquiring the SolidWorks 3D CAD system, Tylinski evaluated available design analysis applications suitable for supporting optomechanical design.
The Solution
Tylinski chose SolidWorks Simulation software because of its ease of use, direct integration with SolidWorks CAD software, intuitive approach to meshing, and structural and thermal analysis capabilities. By using SolidWorks Simulation software on the development of an CCD mosaic camera head as part of NASA’s Near-Earth Object (NEO) program, Tylinski saved a month’s worth of time through integrated analysis; avoided expensive, trial-and-error testing; resolved complex thermal/structural challenges; and aided the effort to map near-Earth objects.
