The Challenge
Staatliche Feintechnikschule Schwenningen – also known as the FTS College for Precision Technology – plays a pivotal role in providing vocational and technical training services in an important manufacturing region of Germany. As more German companies implemented 3D development tools, the school foresaw the need to transition its focus to 3D design.
The Solution
FTS, along with 28 other vocational schools in the Freiburg district, selected SolidWorks Education software – acquiring more than 1,500 licenses of SolidWorks CAD and SolidCAM CAM software – because it is easy for students to learn and use, and has a broad presence among local manufacturers. By selecting SolidWorks, FTS accelerated CAD instruction and real-world application experience, better prepared students for employment with leading manufacturers, established a CSWA Certification Program to provide students with skills certification, and forged productive partnerships with top German companies.
