The Challenge
Task Force Tips, Inc. (TFT), a leading global provider of firefighting equipment, manufactures nozzles and other devices designed to make firefighting safer and more effective. TFT is the only company with 14 nozzles that meet the standards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). TFT needed to move from 2D AutoCAD to a robust, easy-to-use 3D CAD system to create complex castings and assemblies and reap the benefits of automated tooling.
The Solution
TFT decided to standardize on SolidWorks CAD software because of its ease-of-use, assembly capabilities, documentation-creation features, and integration with machining applications. To automate its tooling and CNC machine functions, the company implemented SURFCAM software. The SolidWorks CAD software solution enabled TFT to slash its product design cycle by a factor of four, speed creation of documentation graphics, and introduce a product that revolutionized the firefighting industry.
