The Challenge
Yu Hou Industry Co., Ltd., manufactures packaging machinery, including liquid-filling and bottle-packaging equipment, for the pharmaceutical, food-and-beverage, and health-and- beauty-supply markets. The company needed to more easily present product concepts to customers, and the design team needed to shorten the product development cycle while improving overall product quality.
The Solution
We chose SolidWorks CAD software for its ability to analyze structural design and to make it easier to understand fluids in motion, which is critical for designing liquid-filling equipment. SolidWorks makes it possible to create families of parts, reducing the amount of hard-drive storage required to save files. SolidWorks also gives us the ability to quickly change dimensions or exchange components, making it possible to design large assemblies. In addition, the Windows interface makes the software easy to use, reducing the team's learning curve. We also integrated PhotoWorks rendering software, so we can more easily explain designs to colleagues and customers. Overall, SolidWorks has been an extremely cost-effective addition to our design team.
