The Challenge
milani d&c AG, a leading swiss product and industrial design agency, sets its focus on complex medical technology. The goal is a high degree of product ergonomics and integration of psychological aspects such as fears. Furthermore it is important to meet the estimated costs and a customer’s corporate industrial design. In 1997 milani has been introduced to SolidWorks CAD software by a customer to help improve the work flow. As milani’s customers use different 3D CAD systems the import and export of data stagnated and data compatibility suffered. To that point, milani’s designers worked with the CAD systems FormZ, MiniCAD and Vellum, all based on Apple.
The Solution
Milani introduced SolidWorks CAD software to improve both their internal work flow and the interoperability with their customers’ applications. Milani’s employees are confident with the design capabilities and data exchange features of SolidWorks. They appreciate the free-form surfaces for a modern and ergonomic design.
