The Challenge
Naber Plastics is a leading plastics injection-molding company, specializing in the production of multimedia packaging. In addition to the standard packaging types that can be delivered directly from stock, Naber produces eye-catching packaging for CDs, CDRs and CD-ROMs, with unique designs, special coloring, or customized printing. It also has a fast-growing division producing disposable products. The company needed one 3D CAD package for product design, engineering, evaluation, and presentations, as well as for quickly producing different product configurations and easily communicating with the tooling group.
The Solution
The company chose SolidWorks CAD software because of its ease-of-use and the enthusiasm of the product developers, who have extensive experience with different 3D CAD solutions. Because the company works with a lot of third parties, management demanded a high degree of compatibility for interchanging 3D data. SolidWorks CAD software met this requirement and reduced design time. SolidWorks is easy to use. The software is intuitive and has a well-organized layout and menu structure, which makes it possible for first-time users to become productive very quickly.
