VAR: Modern Tech

The Challenge

ZZorco Consulting, Inc. specializes in advanced injection molding technology. Our most difficult task was communicating product design and tool design to our toolmaker programs: Mastercam, SURFCAM, and TekSoft. We found that translating files to toolpaths was extremely problematic.

The Solution

We compared SolidWorks CAD software with AutoCAD, CADKEY, Solid Edge, Turbo-Cad Pro, and Bob-Cad. We chose SolidWorks CAD software because of its overall performance. SolidWorks is easy to use and provides error-free IGES files for our toolmakers. The mold runs clarified polyproplene on an eight-second cycle. Molds were designed and built in less time than expected.
