The Challenge
Mueller GmbH, a woodworking company based in Germany, designs, manufactures, and sells more than 200 types of wood exterior doors each year. The challenge was to find a 3D CAD package that offered an easy-to-use, Windows-based interface, easy rendering of photorealistic images, strong customer service through resellers, and an affordable price.
The Solution
After evaluating several CAD packages including AutoCAD and Pro/ENGINEER, we chose SolidWorks CAD software for its compatibility with Windows, the strength of the company's network of VARs, and the easy extension by API. We also like using PhotoWorks rendering software to create photorealistic images for presentations to customers.
