The Challenge
Tru-Si Technologies develops and manufactures silicon wafer thinning tools for the semiconductor industry. A major challenge for our design activity was finding a powerful 3D solid modeling program that was low in cost and compatible with Windows NT.
The Solution
We considered Pro/ENGINEER and PT Modeler, but selected SolidWorks CAD software because of its functionality, Windows NT compatibility, and lower cost. An important benefit has been the ability to review and redesign parts and assemblies in 3D. We use a variety of SolidWorks Solution Partner products, including SMARTEAM for product data management, DesignSpace for FEA analysis, CIMLOGIC Toolbox/SE for components, and Interactive Product Animator for animation.
