The Challenge

VST designs, develops, and manufactures a range of accessories for laptop PCs. The VST line of products makes these laptop computers more productive, portable, and powerful. We are portable solutions specialists. We needed a solid modeler that would provide performance, ease-of-use, and low cost.

The Solution

SolidWorks CAD software allows us to design prototypes and develop a product in a few weeks, with complete production tooling in another five-to-six weeks, so that we can get products to market in another week or two. We can complete a total concept-to-market cycle of 10-12 weeks. SolidWorks CAD software outdistanced its competitors on all fronts. Competing products either cost far more, were difficult to learn, or did not have the capabilities and performance of SolidWorks CAD software. We were able to get up and running with virtually no start-up time. The ease of modeling and the parametric capabilities of SolidWorks CAD software allowed us to hold critical design review meetings in a period of days versus weeks. SolidWorks enabled VST to gain competitive advantage by quickly introducing an entire product line of high-quality, low-cost products into the very competitive laptop PC market.
