If you are a Windows XP user you need to read the announcement concerning the end of support for Windows XP.

SolidWorks 2012 is the last release that will run on Windows XP.
SolidWorks 2013 will NOT INSTALL on computers using Windows XP.

Hello - We have received reports that users receive error messages when downloading the SP3 Service Pack. Solution S-058899 contains information regarding these errors and also appears below:

“Could not connect to the SolidWorks server to determine which products you are entitled to” Other variations of the error may be the following: "The entitlement information received from the Installation Manager server is corrupt;" "A Serial Number could not be verified because of a temporary problem connecting to the server"

First, please verify that you have an Internet connection. If you have an Internet connection the most likely explanation for this is excessive volume or traffic connecting to the SolidWorks entitlement servers.

During the first few days after a new service pack or major version is released the volume can be overwhelming for SolidWorks servers. Please be patient and try the download \ install \ upgrade again later.
