DezignWorks is the standard in feature-based reverse-engineering software for SolidWorks® users, providing proven compatibility with most common 3D articulating digitizing devices such as Faro, Romer and MicroScribe.

With DezignWorks, you can automatically create 2D and 3D features, including complex 3D shapes. You can also conduct interactive editing of complex curves, so that data can be added or subtracted either during or after the operation with the DezignWorks Database Manager. Using DezignWorks insures that all geometric elements are parametric, fully editable, and conform to the feature-based intelligence of SolidWorks software.

Real-time reverse engineering

Real-time reverse engineering can be achieved on multiple parts and assemblies.

Real-time reverse engineering can be achieved on multiple parts and assemblies. All alignments are stored with the project, along with interactive probe compensation. DezignWorks enhances the capabilities of SolidWorks with the addition of curve editing and many other tools. Cut and extrude functionality is included in the DezignWorks toolbar, so once a 2D sketch is created, simply digitize the designated distance and the cut or extrude operation is performed.

DezignWorks is fully integrated into the SolidWorks property manager allowing interactive editing of sketch entities such as lines, arcs, curves, splines, and planes. DezignWorks also provides you a display of the digitizer’s coordinate system for single and multiple alignments along with live display of digitizer coordinates and probe tracking in multiple views.

Because of its seamless integration within the SolidWorks environment, DezignWorks is readily adaptable, following the configurations of any new or pre-existing part or assembly documents. Current SolidWorks users are productive with DezignWorks after minimal training, due to the depth of integration and the native look and feel of DezignWorks menus and toolbar.
