Widely recognized as the leading manufacturer of high-performance backback vacuums, ProTeam's goal is to become the world's premier vacuum cleaner manufacturer through strategic partnerships and continual innovation.

The company takes pride in their customer service, advanced educational techniques and quick turnaround of orders (often within 24 hours).

Recently, SolidWorks Express spoke with Michael Shideler, product designer at ProTeam.

What are the advantages of using i.get.it?
"We are able to supplement our SolidWorks classroom instruction with a quick review from time to time. Also, the depth of i.get.it allows me to really get in there and learn something new whether it's a single feature or a complex model. In some situations, I need to jump online and get my answer in five minutes from i.get.it and be back to work. These 'five minute' training sessions have also given me many tips on better ways to work within SolidWorks® and PDMWorks® software — all without having to leave my desk or pick up the phone."

What are the cost or time savings of using i.get.it?
"We've just recently started to track that information, but already it's apparent in our design work that learning the correct design steps early in the implementation has the greatest impact on productivity and the development of new designs. We basically save time and reduce cost each time we design a new part or model."

Which i.get.it training modules benefit your company most?
"i.get.it provides us in-depth training for creating surfaces and for creating photorealistic images using PhotoWorks™ software. Both of these sets of skills are important to our design process, and although I haven't taken the SolidWorks training yet for these capabilities, the i.get.it training provides us great insights into the full potential of using both SolidWorks and PhotoWorks."

i.get.it for SolidWorks has 1,890 videos with more than 200 hours of instruction. Describe how you use i.get.it as a reference tool. Do you use the reference capabilities of i.get.it to search and bookmark SolidWorks features?

"Whenever time allows, I quickly jump into i.get.it and select topics of immediate interest. If I am reviewing a capability that seems easy to use, still it helps to check i.get.it; and if I am about to execute a task I have completed in another design, I always learn something new about the capability or design task if I first explore options using i.get.it."

"My usual scenario is to log into i.get.it to find an answer to an issue. Viewing the training videos helps me better undertand, for example, tools for creating geometry. If it's a tool that I'll use infrequently, I bookmark it for future reference. That way if I get stuck down the road I know where to look for help."
