General Session
The General Sessions at SolidWorks World give attendees an opportunity to find out about future developments from SolidWorks management, hear from other customers who are pushing the limits of innovation, learn from inspirational keynote speakers, and even get a peek at the next release of SolidWorks® software. Bernard Charlès

Bernard Charlès was appointed President of Dassault Systèmes on September 1, 1995. He was named President and CEO on May 28, 2002. Mr. Charlès started his career at DS in 1983 , leading teams to develop new technologies. In 1986, he founded a dedicated Strategy and Research department, and in 1988 was named President of Research and Development. Since becoming President, Mr. Charlès has driven the key steps in DS’s evolution including the development of the Version 5 architecture and the introduction of the V6 online collaborative platform; the development of a PLM (Product Life cycle Management) portfolio with new brands such as DELMIA, ENOVIA and SIMULIA, reinforcing CATIA solutions; and a broader access to 3D (“3D for All”), with the acquisition of SolidWorks and the launch of the 3DVIA brand. |
Bertrand Sicot
Chief Executive Officer, Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp.

Bertrand Sicot brings nearly 20 years of sales operations leadership in both domestic and international engineering businesses to DS SolidWorks. As CEO, Bertrand steers the company toward continued market leadership and profitability, ensuring that the organization delivers software that helps customers around the create products better, faster, and more cost effectively. He most recently served as executive vice president of sales, responsible for directing the global growth strategies for DS SolidWorks by ensuring that the regional sales, education sales, and VAR development teams have the resources they need. Bertrand started his career at DS SolidWorks in 1997 as the regional sales manager for Western Europe and Scandinavia. Since joining DS SolidWorks as Europe’s “second employee,” Bertrand has consistently improved worldwide distribution performance, revenue, profit, and global market share. This success earned him promotions with increasing responsibility and global scope, including to country manager for Western Europe in 1999, and to vice president, North American sales in 2004. Bertrand began his career at IBM France, and was a branch sales manager for Computervision France before joining SolidWorks. Bertrand holds an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers. |
Tony Fadell
Founder and CEO of Nest Labs, Inc.

Tony Fadell is the founder and CEO of Nest Labs, Inc., which developed the Nest Learning Thermostat that automatically creates a customized, energy-efficient temperature schedule for your home. Nest has been dubbed the “iPhone of thermostats” by Wired, and the New York Times describes it as “gorgeous, elegant, and very, very smart.” Prior to Nest, Mr. Fadell served as senior vice president of Apple’s iPod division; was a co-founder, CTO, and director of engineering of the Mobile Computing group at Philips Electronics; and was a hardware and software architect at General Magic. In his 20-plus years in the consumer electronics industry, Mr. Fadell has authored more than 100 patents. He has a degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and won the College of Engineering's alumnus of the year award in 2004. |
