I am writing to request permission to attend the SolidWorks World Conference and Exhibition 2013 - the premier global event for 3D design, simulation, and product development - because I believe the conference's opportunities for learning about complementary technologies can help us evaluate their potential for enhancing productivity in our development process and gaining a competitive edge.
In addition to taking advantage of the more than 200 technical training sessions available, attending the conference provides the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 100 SolidWorks Solution Partner companies at the SolidWorks Partner Pavilion, the largest collection of SolidWorks Solution Partner companies available in one place at one time.
Access to all of these companies at a single venue - combined with expanded exhibit hours - will provide me with ample opportunity to research products and services related to our business, meet with technical representatives from these companies to ask specific questions, and evaluate potential solutions for our organization.
The chance to meet with all of the exhibitors in just a few days will more than offset the travel expenses (airfare and accommodations), attendance fees, and miscellaneous costs related to attending the conference compared to the time and effort required to schedule individual in-house visits with all of these solution providers.
By attending SolidWorks World 2013, which will take place January 20-23, 2013 at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in Orlando, FL, we can thoroughly evaluate innovative technologies and services designed to improve development processes, increase manufacturing throughput, solve data management issues, and streamline production. If we determine one or more solutions look promising for our processes, we can minimize the time needed for follow-up visits because of the information we acquire at the conference.
