- Solidworks World proceedings site
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to SWW. Since we are on subscription though, I hope we get to see some of the many great presentations like was the case last year! When roughly is the proceedings site expected to be online?
- SolidWorks License
I hope someone out in the SolidWorks community can help me. I got an evaluation copy of SW2010 to use for 30 days and that has expired. I've been using it to learn SW on my own by going through the tutorials. I sure could use an extension of that license. I've been unemployed for 9 months and every recruiter I have talked to has told me that if there is just one CAD software to learn it's SolidWorks. I have also seen many job postings looking for people with SW experience. I can't afford to take the class as it costs $1,495 and I'm on unemployment. If someone out there could help me my family and I would appreciate it.
- SolidWorks World 2010 Proceedings
They are now available here: http://www.solidworks.com/swworld/proceedings/proceedings_presentations.htm You will have to have a customer portal account to access. I only saw a few videos available with my regular account, I don't know if more are available with an attendee account. Also, my presentation was only the .ppt, and did not include any additional files. I will post my entire .ppt plus attachments on my own website here soon.
- New Graphics Card
We're using Dell 490 running a Xeon CPU 3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, with a FireGL V7200 graphics card. The powers that be are trying decide if we should buy out the lease on 5 workstations or buy 3 new ones and just upgrade our cards. Any suggesting for graphic cards for this system that's reasonably priced? Thanks in advance for the help
- my Solidworks 2010 cant locate the service package
I am currently using solidworks 2010 with service pac 2.1. I have a xi computer w/ a pentium 4 3.2ghz processor w/3.2 g of ram. I am using a Quadro Fx 1800. Anytime I run solidworks I experience a lot of lag and freezing. I recently upgraded my video card to the 1800 and it has been doing a little better as far as crashing but still lags a lot. When I run solidworks rx diagnostics everything checks out excpet the program being able to locate the service pack database. Would this be one of the reasons Im experiencing lag or is it because my system needs to be updated. If so whats a good fix and how do I locate the service pack database Thanks for your help.
- Not sure where to post this, looking for a Toyota Landcruiser FJ80 model
Not sure where to post this, looking for a Toyota Land cruiser FJ80 model, It doesn’t need to be 100% accurate, just something to start with. I need to build a front bumper and roof rack/ exoskeleton for my FJ80. I built the rear, (not finished yet) it took way longer than it should because I didn’t model it first.

OK, this is a shot in the dark but I wanted to meet as many Smarteam users as I could to exchange ideas and e-mails. Steve
- Best of the Best: What was your favorite session at SWW10 and why?
Hey Everyone, so a great idea was placed in my head (thanks Richard) about putting on a best of the best presentation for the local user groups on the sessions that were shown at world this year! So let us all know what went down in your session favorite ! I had two favorites. First up is Matt Lombard and the 10 Admin Essentials for all SolidWorks users. Listening to Matt is kinda like getting advice from a good friend! And if you need any surfacing help...look no further. Second was Joe Rowsey with Direct Editing and working with "Dumb" Solids. The info was great and Joe was really into it! I only wish I was able to stick around and let him know. THANKS JOE!
