### SOLIDWORKS Design Professional (CSWP)

The Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP) is one of the most recognized and sought-after credentials in the engineering and manufacturing industries. Earning your CSWP demonstrates to employers that you have mastered the core competencies of parametric part design, configurations, and assembly modeling in SOLIDWORKS at a professional level.

The CSWP exam is made up of three segments that can be purchased and taken together or individually, giving you the flexibility to work through the certification at your own pace.

**How it works:**

- Segments can be taken in any order and at any time.
- Once a segment is passed, it does not need to be retaken.
- If a segment is failed, only that segment needs to be repurchased and retaken.
- Once all three segments are successfully completed, your CSWP certification is awarded automatically.

All three segments are added to your cart by default. If you only want to purchase one or two segments, you can remove the others from your cart before checkout.

### About the Exam

#### Certification Benefits

All candidates who pass the CSWP exam receive an electronic certificate, business card logos, and a personal listing in the CSWP online directory. To appear in the directory, this option must be enabled in your online certification account.

#### Exam Structure

The CSWP exam is divided into three separate segments, so you no longer need to set aside a single block of time to complete the entire exam. You may take the segments in any order, at any time, or all three in a row if you prefer. Once all three segments are successfully completed, your CSWP certification is awarded automatically.

#### Exam Content by Segment

Each segment focuses on a different area of SOLIDWORKS expertise. The topics within each segment are grouped below by skill area.

#### Segment 1: Part Modeling from a Drawing

---

70 minutes, 75 of 105 points to pass

Build and modify a parametric part driven by linked dimensions and equations.

- Creating a part from a drawing
- Modifying geometry on the initial part to create a more complex part
- Using linked dimensions and equations to aid in modeling
- Using equations to relate dimensions
- Updating parameters and dimension sizes
- Modifying parameters at different stages while maintaining all other dimensions and design intent
- Mass property analysis

#### Segment 2: Configurations and Design Tables

---

50 minutes, 77 of 104 points to pass

Manage part variations using configurations and design tables.

- Creating configurations from other configurations
- Changing configurations
- Changing or rearranging features of an existing SOLIDWORKS part
- Creating configurations using a Design Table
- Mass properties

#### Segment 3: Assembly Modeling

---

80 minutes, 77 of 109 points to pass

Build a moveable assembly and analyze it using mates, motion, and coordinate systems.

- Creating an assembly
- Adding parts to an assembly
- Inserting subassemblies
- Replacing a part with another part in an assembly
- Basic and advanced mates
- Collision detection when moving a part in an assembly
- Interference detection
- Creating a coordinate system
- Using a coordinate system to perform mass properties analysis
