Genus Designer includes two modules, our Generator and our Explorer.The Genus Designer Generator is a hybrid configurator. This means that you can create a master-model of the portions of the design that are stable, and generatively insert, by rule, components into assemblies or features into parts.The Genus Designer Explorer allows you to define and search a design space, eliminating invalid alternatives, and identifying the best design.The combination of the two means that you can handle the full range of problems, from simple to complex.For a simple, bounded, configuration problem, a master-model is sufficient. Our diagrammatic language makes Genus Designer an easy tool to learn and use.As configuration problems become more complex, with open-ended inputs or a high degree of variability, a generative modeler is essential. Genus Designer is one of only a few tools with generative capabilities, and of those, is the one most deeply integrated with SOLIDWORKS. Each design problem is unique. Even within a single company, success automating one product line does not guarantee success with the next. Genus Designer was created by people who understand where complexity creeps in, and provides the tools needed to manage that complexity.
