We Have Answers. #### What is subdivision (Sub-D) modeling? --- Subdivision modeling is like molding digital clay and allows you to create complex surfaces and organic, ergonomic shapes quickly. It is a technique that designers use to create detailed, scalable models from simple mesh models. Sub-D modeling allows the user to design with freeform sculpting. Different from parametric modeling, where designs are driven by user-defined sketches, features, and parameters, Sub-D modeling allows designers to start with a primitive surface, and then push and pull to create any shape.
