PASCAM WoodWorks is a powerful engineering solution for any woodworker to support the design for manufacturing (DFM) approach, based on semantic feature technology. It enables woodworking companies to safely create high-quality 3D models of their products in the leading mechanical CAD system, SolidWorks, in the most efficient way possible.
This intelligence on part of the single components enables the application of user-defined modifications and machining processes with all relevant CNC Data (with the CAM system PASCAM Bea installed), efficient PASCAM material management, automated PASCAM mating at the assembly level, as well as automated 2D drawing generation with various list export (Bill of Materials, etc.), including automatic export to Excel.
Another enhancement is the database-assisted designing with the open PASCAM databases and libraries, for components of 3rd-party manufacturers or PASCAM Quick Joints for all possible woodworking joints. This design and the model libraries can be used for automatically mating parts and applying geometrical and technological modifications such as applying a row of holes or inserting a hardware component with the corresponding drilling and routing information, which is key to the efficient and comprehensive variant modeling of assemblies.
The smart PASCAM productivity solutions, added to provide more automation for woodworkers, enable the fully parametric resizing/ redimensioning of cabinet assemblies from the outside-in. This parametric resizing/redimensioning can optionally be controlled by variable equations and conditions to automatically reduce the number of hinges at a cabinet door when the outside dimension is falling below a defined dimension. The remaining hinges then are automatically relocated in a correct position, with all the attached CAM information for drilling or routing. This is a very fast and yet safe way to create dimensionally customized variants and remodel user-defined default models.
Interfaces to common ERP systems are also available. Material databases from ERP systems can be imported into SolidWorks material databases automatically.
PASCAM Bea is the CAM system of choice for woodworking CNC machines and completely integrated in PASCAM WoodWorks. PASCAM Bea is fully associative with the SolidWorks model geometry and paves the way for the easy and intuitive application of machining strategies to the manufacturing geometry.
Additional software programs are also available from PASCAM, i.e. to enhance PASCAM WoodWorks with batch programming (PASCAM WoodBatch).
