The Zygote Solid Skeleton is a phenomenal tool and asset. The Zygote Solid Skeletal data gives a designer strategic advantage over designers and engineers who do not have access to such a useful data set.While the current Zygote models exhibit one morphologic example, they are a great starting place for any orthopaedic device project. Anatomic variations can be derived via parametric or non-parametric model or surface adjustments. Designers may supplement their work using Zygote models with morphologic studies, 3D solid models reconstructed from CT or MRI scans, or 3D data acquired from surface scans of cadaver bones/human skeletal tissues.Using the Zygote data in this manner, a designer can create products that fit the shape of the bone or joint anatomy the first time. This saves on many iterations, especially when enhanced with CAE tools, allows for early refinement of the product to achieve the fit, form, function, and safety performance goals.
