The Graphics Charter is a guide that outlines the visual identity and components of the SOLIDWORKS® brand. By establishing these guidelines, the Graphics Charter aims to ensure that our partners maintain consistent visual communication across all their platforms—print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere—ultimately reinforcing the SOLIDWORKS brand identity.

This commitment to brand consistency is further formalized in the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Agreement, which emphasizes the importance of adhering to these guidelines as part of our collaborative efforts.

SOLIDWORKS Vision & Brand Statement

SOLIDWORKS delivers powerful 3D design capabilities with the added advantage of cloud-based collaboration and innovation. By connecting with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, SOLIDWORKS extends beyond traditional CAD to offer real-time collaboration and state-of-the-art lifecycle management. This unified ecosystem empowers teams to imagine, design, create, and produce experiences to market faster, all while staying connected in a secure, flexible environment that enhances every stage of experience development.

The SOLIDWORKS brand represents a commitment to quality and innovation in engineering design. As a vital component of the broader Dassault Systèmes brand, partners must adhere to established guidelines to maintain the integrity and recognition of the SOLIDWORKS name. This ensures that all brand representations are consistent, reinforcing its values and reputation across platforms. To effectively communicate the importance of these standards, the following section outlines key elements and considerations regarding the proper use of SOLIDWORKS branding.

SOLIDWORKS Brand Logo

Customers associate the SOLIDWORKS name with quality. SOLIDWORKS’ logos, service marks, and trademarks help identify the high-quality goods and services that customers have come to rely on. Therefore, it is essential to protect Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks’ corporate name, product names, and trademarks from misuse or dilution.

The power of the SOLIDWORKS logo lies in its consistent and appropriate use. Any use outside these guidelines dilutes the logo's effectiveness and is strictly prohibited.

Elements of the SOLIDWORKS Brand Logo

The SOLIDWORKS logotype consists of two basic elements: the SOLIDWORKS logo and the “3DS” trademark.

Authorized Users

Only Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks employees worldwide and Value-Added Resellers with a valid, signed contract are authorized to use the SOLIDWORKS brand logo. Research Associate Solution Partners, Certified Solution Partners, and Certified Gold Partners are not authorized to use the SOLIDWORKS brand logo without prior written permission from SOLIDWORKS.

Authorization Request

To request authorization for using the SOLIDWORKS brand logo, please send an email to SOLIDWORKS.PartnerProgram@3ds.com. In your email, include a brief abstract containing the following information: the name of your organization, the context of the SOLIDWORKS brand logo usage (e.g., print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere), the duration for which the logo will be displayed, and a clarification on exclusivity: is this request exclusive to SOLIDWORKS? If not, specify which other organizations' logos will also be featured. If the SOLIDWORKS brand logo is intended for your website, please provide the URL where it will be used and any potential locations on that page.

Partners should allow five to ten business days for SOLIDWORKS to review and approve your request; however, we aim to provide approval as quickly as possible. On occasion, this time may need to be extended, as approvals are subject to the availability of SOLIDWORKS personnel.

SOLIDWORKS Brand Logo Usage Guideline

Once you have received approval to use the SOLIDWORKS brand logo, it is essential to follow specific guidelines to maintain brand integrity and consistency. Adhering to these standards ensures that the SOLIDWORKS logo is presented in a manner that aligns with brand values and preserves its recognition across various platforms. Below are the key points to keep in mind when using the SOLIDWORKS logo:

  • The SOLIDWORKS brand logo should always appear alongside the Dassault Systèmes “3DS” prefix.
  • When in text (PowerPoint, emails, external articles, etc.), SOLIDWORKS should be written in capital letters without the Dassault Systèmes “3DS” prefix.
  • Brand logo in its assigned brand color (red) is to be used for its direct brand promotion and when no other Dassault Systèmes brand logo appears in the same communication area. This can include giveaways, event signage, secondary web pages, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • To ensure proper branding practices, the SOLIDWORKS brand logo must be accompanied by an asterisk “*” positioned to the right of the logo. Subsequently, the statement: “*A Dassault Systèmes brand” should be included in the footer or fine print.
  • The minimum size for any of the Logos is .85” inch wide for print and 115 pixels for onscreen uses. You must not reduce the logos below these sizes.
  • The logos must always be scaled proportionally.
  • A clear space all around the logo must be respected.
  • The brand logo must be placed, allowing for a clear space equal to the height of the letter D from the “3DS” prefix. This is an area in which no type or other graphic elements of any kind are permitted. The clear space begins outside of the white space surrounding the logo. When space permits, we recommend adding the clear space of an additional “D.”
  • A logo must stand alone. You may not combine or overlay a logo with any other feature, including, but not limited to, other logos, words, or graphics.
  • Please, do not color, re-size, or change the logo in any way.
  • Black version for black-and-white printing.

SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program Logos

The SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program logos indicate that partners' products are compatible with the SOLIDWORKS ecosystem, enhancing the user experience and streamlining product development. These logos serve as marks of approval and recognition, indicating that the partner's product meets SOLIDWORKS' criteria. By utilizing these logos, partners demonstrate their commitment to quality and compatibility.

SOLIDWORKS Certified Gold Product and Certified Solution Partner Logos

The Certified Gold Product and Certified Solution Partner logos were created for third-party companies that have received written notification for achieving these statuses, ship a product integrated with SOLIDWORKS, have signed the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Agreement, and are Partners in good standing.

Elements of the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program Logos

The SOLIDWORKS Certified Gold Product, Certified Solution Partner, or other provided Partner logos consist of three basic elements: the SOLIDWORKS logo, the logo box, and the partner logotype. The Partner logotypes are specially modified type fonts and must never be recreated. The Partner logos have specific proportions, sizes, colors, and correct uses. They should appear only as represented in this resource.

When your company uses the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program logos, you must use only the logos provided by Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp., as listed at the end of this resource.

Authorized Users

Certified Gold Product Logo: Only Certified Solution Partners who have received Gold Product Certification are authorized to use the Certified Gold Product logo. This means Certified Solution Partners that have completed their "total integration" and certification with SOLIDWORKS and are listed on the SOLIDWORKS website as Certified Gold Partners.

Certified Solution Partner Logo: Only Certified Solution Partners (which do not include Research Associate Solution Partners who may be in the process of developing their solution) are authorized to use the Certified Solution Partner logo. This applies only to companies that have completed a SOLIDWORKS-compatible product and are listed on the SOLIDWORKS website.

Application of the SOLIDWORKS PARTNER Logos

Once qualified as an Authorized User, the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program logos may be used on all print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere.

Marketing Guidelines for SOLIDWORKS Solution Partners

Creation of Partner Product and Company Names and Logos

Makers of Certified Solution Products and Certified Gold Products are often interested in creating a name or logo for their business that incorporates the words "Solid" or "SOLIDWORKS" or elements of the SOLIDWORKS logo, such as the "3DS" mark, the logotype, the combination of these elements or the placement of the partner company or product name within the logo box.

SOLIDWORKS requests that partners refrain from using any of these elements when naming or identifying their company or business. It is important for customers to identify the entity with which they are conducting business. The use of names and/or logos that are similar to the SOLIDWORKS name or logo can mislead customers into thinking they are conducting business directly with SOLIDWORKS, rather than with makers of Certified Gold Products or Certified Solution Products. The partner's name and logo should clearly indicate to the customer that the partner or their product is distinct from Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. or its products.

DS SolidWorks expressly reserves the right to initiate and pursue any legal or equitable action against any use of a name, trademark, logo, or other designation that DS SolidWorks reasonably determines is likely to cause confusion, mistake, or deception among third parties regarding the identity, affiliation, or relationship of DS SolidWorks and the Partner.

SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program Trademark and Reference Guide

When participating in the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program, it is essential to adhere to the guidelines regarding the use of trademarks and logos. These guidelines are designed to protect the integrity of the SOLIDWORKS brand while also ensuring that your company's identity remains clear and distinct. Below are important points to consider when incorporating SOLIDWORKS trademarks and logos into your print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere. Please review these guidelines carefully to ensure compliance and to maintain a positive relationship with Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp.

  • Prominently and clearly indicate your company name/product name in your print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere, so it is clear that you are the source of the collateral, not Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp.
  • The SOLIDWORKS logos may not be used in any manner that suggests that your product is a SOLIDWORKS product or in any manner that suggests that the trademark SOLIDWORKS is a part of your product name.
  • You shall not imitate a SOLIDWORKS logo’s design scheme in any of your print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere.
  • The SOLIDWORKS logos may not be used as a design feature on your product, print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere.
  • Do not use SOLIDWORKS or any SOLIDWORKS product name in your product name without consultation and permission from the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program, which will be granted separately.
  • Do not use SOLIDWORKS, any SOLIDWORKS trademark, or anything confusingly similar in your domain name or any of your webpage names.
  • Adhere to the guidelines in this document when using SOLIDWORKS trademarks (including the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program logos) in your print or digital materials, advertising, social media, promotional efforts, or elsewhere.
  • Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. reserves the right to object to unfair uses or misuses of its trademarks and other violations of applicable law.
  • Partner shall promptly, and in any event without undue delay, take all actions reasonably required to correct any trademark, branding, or designation inconsistencies identified in written notices issued by DS SolidWorks, including but not limited to inconsistencies relating to the use of the SOLIDWORKS name, trademarks, logos, or other brand elements. Such corrective actions shall be implemented in accordance with DS SolidWorks’ instructions and to DS SolidWorks’ reasonable satisfaction.
  • Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. may withdraw permission to use any SOLIDWORKS logo if corrective action does not meet Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp.’s reasonable satisfaction.
  • While the use of SOLIDWORKS as part of a primary domain is prohibited (e.g., www.longlivesSOLIDWORKS.com), use of SOLIDWORKS in a URL following a primary domain is acceptable, and it can benefit your site from a search engine optimization perspective. An example of the acceptable URL structure is www.acme.com/solidworks.

Pay-per-click

Search engine optimization and Google AdWords that use the SOLIDWORKS name/brand must be reviewed and authorized on a case-by-case basis by the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program.

Authorization Request

If you would like assistance with promoting your SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Product and using the SOLIDWORKS Trademark, please email SOLIDWORKS.PartnerProgram@3ds.com detailing your request and including your 10-digit Google Ads account ID. Partners should allow five to ten business days for Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. to review and approve your request.

Quality Control

Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. reserves the right to review your use of its logo and may periodically request samples. Refusal to submit samples of logo use, or non-compliance with the Agreement, could result in revocation of your license to use a logo and/or your membership with the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program.

You are required to implement reasonable corrective actions, upon Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp’s request, regarding your use of a Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp logo and/or quality of any product associated with a Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp logo.

Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. may terminate a partner’s membership with the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program upon written notice of material breach of any of its obligations regarding logo usage and failure to cure such breach within thirty (30) days following receipt of written notice specifying the nature of the breach.
