FAQ
1. Is in-person training available for all regions?
Private in-person training can also be hosted at a facility of your choosing (including hotel conference rooms).
2. How many people can attend a training session?
12 participants. We’ve found that in groups larger than this, it is very difficult for the instructor to adequately address questions, provide assistance, and keep the class on schedule.
3. What should I expect when I request Instructor-Led Training?
Our Training Coordinator will reach out to you to discuss your training needs including topics, training agendas, format, timeline, and availability. Then they’ll work to match you with the best instructor for your needs and provide a quote designating the date, time, and cost for the training. Once a signed PO # is received, you’ll receive a confirmation email with connection instructions for virtual offerings or location / travel information for in-person sessions.
For virtual training offerings, please make sure to configure and test all technology (microphone, speaker, GoToMeeting, TeamViewer, etc.) prior to training! (please refer to the “Virtual Training” section for more information)
4. Do you offer training in different languages?
The DELMIAWorks hosted training offerings are only available in English. Please inquire about our partner program to see if we have a certified partner available in your geo that can provide services in additional languages.
1. What are the advantages / disadvantages of booking virtual versus in-person training courses?
- Advantages – Virtual training offers increased flexibility for multiple people located in different regions (or even parts of the same building) to participate in the same session. It also reduces the overall training cost, inconvenience, and downtime by eliminating the need for traveling. Multi-day courses can be spread out over more half-day sessions (rather than fewer full-day sessions) in order to allow for easier load balancing of work responsibilities and increase time for knowledge absorption.
- Disadvantages – The success of the training session is heavily dependent upon strong, reliable internet connectivity as well as the software / hardware requirements listed below. Our instructors work hard to deliver engaging training sessions, but attendees are still the primary responsible party for protecting their training time by reducing distractions and staying focused.
2. What computer or system requirements exist for virtual training?
For virtual training sessions, it’s imperative for a successful session that the necessary technology requirements have been setup and configured ahead of time.
- Internet Connection – Please make sure to have a strong, reliable internet connection. If possible, connect your computer via Ethernet cable instead of relying on a WiFi signal.
- Remote Screen Sharing Program – Any remote screen sharing software that will be used for the session (such as GoToMeeting or TeamViewer) needs to be downloaded and tested prior to training.
- Audio Connection – Will you be dialing in to a conference call or using VOIP? Does your microphone or speaker device have a higher quality sound using one option or the other?
- Microphone – Will you be using a computer built-in microphone, headset, conference room speaker, or cell phone? Is the audio quality good enough that the instructor can clearly hear and understand your questions?
- Speaker – Will you be using a computer built-in speaker, headset, conference room speaker, or cell phone? Is the audio quality good enough that you can clearly understand the instructor talking?
- Computer Monitor / Screen – Will you be joining training from a conference room computer or your personal computer? If using a conference room, do you know how to project onto the wall / screen / TV? For hands on multi-day classes, we highly recommend having two monitors / screens so that you can watch the instructor’s demonstration on one and follow along in the training environment on the other.
