Job Title: Product Manager – Analysis Flow/ CFD
Location: Concord, MA
Description: This position is ideal for an experienced designer or engineer with experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis, and some knowledge of Kinematics. This highly visible position reports to the Manager of Product Management and will be responsible for steering the direction of SolidWorks analysis software. The Product Manager also has the responsibility of both lead positioning and specifying software products related to the validation of designs. The type of design includes, but is not limited to the design of machines, consumer products, the design electronics and fluid control systems. Travel is expected to be 10-20%.
Responsibilities:
• Develop product vision, message and positioning.
• Interface with customers and prospects to directly understand their needs and how future products may address these needs.
• Identify and drive product gaps and new opportunities based on cost/benefit analysis and thorough business case justification.
• Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution.
• Research the market - Market data gathering through analyst reports, trade press, and surveys.
• Generate materials that clearly articulate the advantages of SolidWorks design validation solutions.
• Establish advantages/disadvantages in SolidWorks comparison for use by SolidWorks sales team.
• Speaker for the product by representing the composite application(s) to the market such as analysts, tradeshows and other events.
• Determine participation in contests, speaking opportunities, and promotional events.
Minimum Experience: 3 + years experience as a product manager, applications engineer or marketing programs manager with a proven track record of successful product launches preferably in CAE. An ideal candidate would have 3 + years of experience as a design engineer using CAE tools.
Education: BSME, MBA preferred.
Qualifications: Prior technical sales or product management experience required. Strong presentation skills are also required--ranging from the ability to present to large groups of customers to smaller groups of senior management. Othe requirements include:
• Excellent overall knowledge of CFD and CAE market, including low and high end CAE products
• Proven ability to communicate ideas with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of competitive products and markets
• Strong background in MCAD user needs
• Must have vision to take analysis to a broad range of users, including mechanical designers and engineers.
• Highly motivated self starter, willing to travel
