Dorsey S.A.S. designs and crafts many of the world’s most complex, beautiful, and expensive pieces of luxury jewelry for the some of the world’s top, upscale jewelry houses. During the early part of its 30-year history, Dorsey worked exclusively with physical materials to model the intricate shapes and unique designs required for producing high-end, custom-made jewelry pieces. When 3D CAD and digital scanning technologies emerged, Dorsey standardized on SOLIDWORKS® mechanical design software to create more complex designs and support more sophisticated manufacturing techniques. However, performing advanced surfacing operations in SOLIDWORKS CAD software was challenging.
When Dorsey heard about SOLIDWORKS Industrial Designer software, it signed up for the SOLIDWORKS Industrial Designer Lighthouse Program, which provides the opportunity to use the software in production as part of pre-release testing.
